Once, there was a boy
named Raju. He was very hardworking. He had a passion for studying well and
being well in life someday. He was an orphan and was poor. Whatever he earned
didn't cover his tuition fees and his food expenses. So, he had various jobs as
a paperboy, milk boy, salesman etc. But he never neglected his studies. He even
skipped his meals to pay his tuition fees.
One hot summer day, he was
out on one of his jobs as a salesman. He finished his sales and was returning,
but he was so exhausted that he was about to faint. So he knocked on the door
of a random house. A little girl opened the door whom he asked a glass of
water. The girl nodded and came back with a glass of milk instead. The boy said
he couldn't take it because her mother will scold her. But the girl just
replied that her mother taught her to help people in need with whatever they
could. The boy drank the glass of milk and thanked the girl and asked her name.
As days passed, the girl
lost her father due to an accident. The girl and her mother lived for each
other. After some years, it so happened that the girl was diagnosed with a
severe illness, but they didn't have enough money to pay for the treatment. The
hospital staff advised the mother to take the girl home. When she went to speak
to the doctor, the doctor informed her that a senior doctor who was visiting
the hospital at that time has agreed to operate on her slaughter. She was
overwhelmed with joy. The girl was operated on and it was successful.
When the mother went to
the doctor to ask about the expenses, he gave her a bill which was paid and
behind it was written, ' paid with a glass of milk'. The mother didn't
understand anything. When she asked the doctor, he told her that her daughter
saved his life by giving him a glass of milk. He later on became one of the
famous doctors of the state.
He never forgot the help
of the little girl. When he was checking the hospital files, he recognised her
name and he wanted to show his gratitude.
