Once there lived a boy whose name is Richards. His
father passed away and he stays with his mother. His mother wanted him to
become a great piano player. So she sent Richards to a master who is expert in
it.
However, there
was a problem with Richards. As he is not musically inclined, he is learning
very slow compare to others. The master was not sure whether Richards can
complete the course in time or not. But his mother used to send him to the
master every week.
After few weeks, Richards stopped
attending the classes. The master thought that he had given up the classes as
he is lagging behind due to his weakness. Later the master arranged one music
concert in the town.
The master sent the invitation to
all the musical instruments institutes. Richards also called the master and
asked him to give a chance to play piano in the concert. As Richards
is not good in playing the piano and he may spoil the concert with his bad
performance, the master denied it. But Richards begged the master to give him a
chance and promised him that he would not let him down. Finally, he gave a
chance and kept Richards in the last, hoping that Richards will change his mind
by seeing the best performances.
The big day came, the concert hall
was fully packed with the audience and the children were amazing in their
skill. Finally, it was Richards’s turn to play the piano and his name was
announced. He walked in with his piano and the master was so nervous on his
performance.
As Richards started playing, the
crowd was silent and amazed by the play. In fact, he gave the best performance
of the evening. At the end of his presentation, the crowd and the master gave
him a standing ovation.
One of the
students from crowd asked Richardson how he managed to play so brilliantly.
With a microphone in front of him, he said, “I was not able to attend the
weekly classes as my mother was suffering from cancer. So I started practicing
in hospital itself. She just passed away today morning and I wanted her to hear
my play. You know, she is deaf when she was alive and now she can hear my play
from heaven. So I have to play my best for her!”
Moral: When you
have passion and a reason to do something, you will surely excel. You may not
be talented or gifted like others but if you have strong enough reason to drive
you something, you will be able to tap into your inner God-given potential.
