Few people were travelling in a boat. Suddenly, the boat was turned down and all were in big danger. Only one man survived and he swam up to the shore. He landed in an island which is deserted. He sincerely prayed God to rescue him from the place.
By travelling across the sea shore, he collected some wood and built a small hut in live in. He is starving and searching for food. One day while he went in search of food and came back. He saw that the small hut was caught up with fire and his only shelter was no more. He cried and prayed a lot in that night. He asked God, “God, how could you do this to me!”
Next day morning while he is still sleeping, he heard the sound of the ship coming towards him. It had come to rescue him. The man asked the rescuers, “How did you know that I was here?” They replied, “We saw your smoke signal.”
MORAL: It is very easy to get discouraged in our tough times. But we shouldn’t lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, the next time your little hut is burning to the ground -- it just may be the smoke signal that summons the grace of God.
