Once Budha was
walking along with his disciples. There came a lake to pass by. Before passing
through it, they thought of taking a rest for a while. The Buddha requested one
of his disciples to bring water from the lake.
The disciple went to
the lake and saw few people were washing the clothes and few more were washing
their bullock carts. He noticed that the water was so muddy. So he came back
and told the same.
After some time,
Budha noticed that no one is at the lake and sent the same disciple to bring
the water. When the disciple went near to the lake, he found clear water.
Happily, he dipped his pot with water and gave it to Budha to drink.
The Buddha looked at
the water and said, “What you did to
change muddy water into clean water? You just let it be so that the mud settled
down by its own and clear water will come out. Our mind is also like that when
it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time, it will settle automatic.
You no need to put any effort to calm it down, it will settle down without any
effort.
He continued and
said, “When there is peace inside, that peace exhibits. It spreads around in
the environment and people around you start feeling it. Such peace comes from
God alone”.
