Empty to Plenty

Here is an inspirational story of an empty young boy to a plenty young man. Zero rupees to thirty crores.
He came to Mumbai from Chennai at the age of 17. He was robbed on his first day in Mumbai. But he decided that Mumbai is the place for him to live. He doesn’t know Hindi, but somehow found a job in a small hotel as a utensil cleaner. He started earning 150 per month. He started working hard and in his leisure time, he used to spend time with the chef and started learning some food items.
After two years, he started a small hotel on Handicraft outside the Vashi railway station. He didn’t compromise on the quality of food items. Slowly, his business was increased and forced him to invite two of his brothers from Chennai.
After a few more years, he shifted his hotel from handicraft to a shop. So many students, employees were his regular customers. With the help of students, he learned about the internet. By seeing the different recipe videos, he started implementing in his hotel. In a year, he added 26 varieties of dosa in his menu. By 2002, his restaurant had 102 varieties of dosa.
He had a small wish to keep an outlet in a shopping mall. But many malls didn’t accept his plea. After much struggle, he got permission from Center One Mall in Vashi because most of the workers at that mall were his regular customers. This turned to be the major success in his business.
By 2012, he opened 45 restaurants across India & 7 restaurants in different parts of the world. They all under one name called DOSA PLAZA and the founder is none other than Prem Ganapathy.
