The Contractor

Once there lived a contractor. He became old and decided to retire. He told the same to the manager that his energy is degrading and it’s time to spend time with family.
The manager understood his situation and pleaded him to build the last house. As the manager pleaded him, the old contractor agreed. But being in a mood of retirement, the contractor didn’t pay much attention towards the construction. He employed unskilled people and used a low quality material to build the house.
When the construction was completed, the contractor gave the final report and showed him the house. The manager gave some papers and the main door keys of that house to the contractor and said, “This is my gift to you as you worked for me from last 3 decades”.
The contractor was shocked and felt very sad. He thought if I knew it before then I might build it far better than this. He lived his entire life living in that house thinking about his mistake.
We too are in the same phase. God has sent us to this world to build our homes in heaven by obeying His commands. Now, we have to decide how well we wish to build the homes where we will live forever.
