This is one of the most inspiring stories of a blind boy who stood
up in all his difficulties and reached new heights. His name is Srikanth Bolla,
a 24-year-old entrepreneur from Hyderabad. He was born blind to poor parents
whose earnings were just Rs. 20,000 per year. They tried to get rid of him but
he somehow stayed with them.
Though he was blind, he secured 90% in class 10. He likes science
but no one allowed him to opt it. He filed a case and fought for 6 months and
won the case. He scored 98% in class 12.
As he was blind, IITs and NITs didn’t give hall ticket for writing
entrance exams. So he applied for overseas and got selected in four colleges
which are considered to be the best colleges on earth. They are Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Berkeley University and Carnegie
Mellon. He chose Massachusetts Institute of Technology, received a scholarship
and became the first blind student who studies in MIT.
After returning back to India in 2012, he started Bollant
Industries, in which 60% of his employees are poor and physically challenged.
His company is worth of Rs. 50 crores and even Ratan Tata had to invest in him.
This 450 employed company is one of the fastest growing companies in India.
Being blind, the world may say you can’t do anything but Bolla said
and proved, “I can do anything”.
