He is a sensation in Indian cricket team. Dhoni believes strongly
that he can bat without any fear. In high tension matches also, while he is
bowling, he will give a smile. Looks like thin but when he connects the ball
with his bat, no doubt it will sail over to stands. Yes, I am writing about the
new sensational medium pace all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
As many cricketers, even
Hardik came from a poor background and he is very poor in studies. Hardik is a
ninth standard failed student. As every Indian boy, he also loves playing
cricket. Cricket is his passion right from his childhood. He sacrificially gave
up everything for the sake of cricket. For one year, he ate only Maggie as his
lunch while practising cricket. While going to practise, he used to keep one
Maggie pack in his kit. Every noon, the ground canteen owner used to provide
hot water so that he can mix it in Maggie.
Though Hardik failed in studies, he never gave up learning English.
When his friends asked about that, he used to tell that one day I will become a
great player and I should talk in English only. That is his confidence level in
spite of his poor background.
He was the 12th player in Mumbai Indians team (Indian Premier
League) for a long time. In his IPL debut, he came to the crease when three MI
players (Rohit Sharma, Pollard & Rayadu) were out in a single over. He came
and struck two massive sixes which helped Mumbai Indians to win their first
match of the season after four consecutive losses.
Just by seeing his batting skills, Sachin told him that he will be
placed into National Cricket team within 18 months. But it took only 8 months
after Sachin’s words. Now he is emerging as one of the best All-rounder and, of
course, the junior finisher too.
Let’s all wish him for his future. All the very best Hardik Pandya.
