Once upon a time, there lived a monkey who used to eat and sleep on a red rose apple tree. One fine day, a crocodile swam from a far end and told to monkey that he is so hungry. Monkey, being kind offered some apples from the tree. The crocodile enjoyed eating them and daily they used to eat those apples together. The monkey and crocodile became good friends. They started discussing their lives, friends and family.
One day the crocodile asked few more apples to his wife who is at the other end of the river. Monkey happily gave few apples and it became regular that all the apples were shared between monkey and crocodile couple. The male crocodile used to spend most of his time with the monkey as he is well connected. This brought jealous to his wife and started thinking to end the friendship. So she started forcing her husband to invite monkey for the dinner. But her intention is to eat monkey’s sweet heart as the monkey is eating only those sweet apples.
The male crocodile was determined that not to invite his friend monkey to the dinner because he knows the intentions of his wife. One day, the female crocodile started pretending that she is very ill and the doctor suggested eating monkey’s heart to recover. The male crocodile was in a big dilemma. On the one hand, his wife and on the other hand, his best friend. At last, he decided to invite monkey for a dinner.
The crocodile swam to the other end and invited monkey for the dinner. Monkey readily accepted and sat on crocodile’s back. While they are in the middle of the river, the crocodile started sinking into the water. The frightened monkey asked him why he was doing that. Then the crocodile started explaining him everything. The clever monkey told him that he is always ready to give up his life for the good cause but there is a problem now. The crocodile asked what it is. The monkey said that he forgot his heart on the apple tree so that it will become sweeter. So he suggested reverting back to collect his heart before reaching for dinner. The foolish crocodile swam fast and reached the apple tree. With one heave, the monkey was on the top of the tree. He told the crocodile to tell his wicked wife that she had married the biggest fool in the world.
Moral: Don’t underestimate yourself. There are bigger fools in this world.
