Once there lived a
father along with her 3-year-old daughter. He punished his daughter for wasting
a roll of gold wrapping paper. As it is a Christmas season, the daughter tried
to use the gold wrapping paper for a gift. Next day morning, the little girl brought
that gift to the dad and said, “This is for you, Daddy.”
The father was felt
sorry for scolding her and opened the gift. The box was empty and he was angry
again and yelled, “Don’t you know when you give someone a present, there is
supposed to be something inside?” The little girl with great fear and tears in
her eyes said, “Oh, Daddy, it’s not at an empty box. I blew many kisses into
that box and they all are for you, Daddy.” The father was melted by his
daughter’s love and hugged her and begged for her forgiveness.
Unfortunately, the
little girl met with an accident and died. But the father kept that gold box on
his bed many years. Whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary
kiss and remember the love of the child.
In a very real sense,
each one of us, as human beings, God has given each one with a golden box. It
has a lot of kisses, love of our parents, siblings, relatives and friends.
There is simply no other possession anyone could hold more precious than this.
